1940’s Elgin WWII 10 second bombing “Jitterbug” Stopwatch and a random Duck

I found this stopwatch on ebay for about $50.  Based on the serial number it was produced by Elgin in 1940.  Everything seems to work properly but it has one annoying ‘feature’.  Once you wind the watch and start timing, it does not stop until it has become completely unwound.  You can start, stop, and reset the watch as much as you would like while waiting for it to stop making its fast pace 40bps tick.
