Flash and other plugins can get annoying. I didn’t really take the time to mess with it until I saw a Reddit post or a tweet (sorry it was late) praising the time saved loading pages when Flash was disabled. Rather than install an extension to manage Flash or go all out with Ad-block, you can set your ‘Plug-ins’ settings so Flash (and other plug-in content) does not load by default.
To find the setting:
- Click the Wrench to the right of your address bar
- Click Settings
- Click “Show advanced settings..” at the bottom
- Click “Content settings…” under Privacy
- Scroll to Plug-ins and change the radio button to ‘Click to play’ (advanced: you can enable/disable individual plug-ins and create exceptions)
- Click Ok
- Go to TMZ.com to test

Yeah, I found this out reading a sports message board and immediately implemented it. Best user experience any browser has ever come up with. Flash sucks.
