After some grunting, I was able to get OpenZwave Control Panel, libmicrohttpd, and Open-Zwave running on Chrome OS on my Samsung Chromebook with an Aeon Labs Z-Stick 2 controller. In the next couple days, I will outline my steps. There is no advantage to running the Control Panel on the Chromebook – my goal was to familiarize myself with the building process in developer mode.
While I have been able to connect to Cisco VPN yet, I have been enjoying the Chromebook more since my last review. I have been in developer mode with the invalidated firmware and have enjoyed building and adding simple tools like ‘htop’ and ‘make’.
